The Government of Tripura, through its Tribal Welfare Department, has officially released the notification for Pre-Matric (Class IX & X) and Post-Matric Scholarships under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) “Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children (Pre & Post Matric)”.

Eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students permanently residing in Tripura and studying in recognized institutions (within or outside the State) can now apply for the scholarship via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

 Eligibility & Type of Applications

1. Fresh Applications

For:

  • New students for the AY 2025–26

  • Students who didn’t apply in 2024–25

2. Renewal Applications

For:

  • Students who received the scholarship in 2024–25

  • Those whose 2024–25 applications were verified/approved but payment is still pending

 Required Documents

For Fresh Applicants:

  1. Passport Size Photograph

  2. ST Certificate

  3. Income Certificate (Issued by SDM/DCM/DWO/SDWO/DC)

  4. Last Academic Marksheet

  5. Bonafide Student Certificate

  6. Hosteller Certificate (if applicable)

For Renewal Applicants:

  1. Last Exam Marksheet

  2. Bonafide Certificate

  3. Hosteller Certificate (if applicable)

 Important Instructions

  • All applicants must have a valid One Time Registration (OTR) number on NSP.

  • Those studying outside Tripura must submit a printed copy of the online application and documents to their District Welfare Officer (DWO) for Level-2 verification.

  • Institutes and District Officers are responsible for timely verifications to avoid delays.

 Strict Action Against Malpractices

The department warns that falsified income certificates or forged documents will result in cancellation of the application and legal action.
